Facebook is a great place to promote your business. Facebook allows people to create business or group pages. Facebook also accepts paid advertising for very small amounts like $5.
While you can, of course, create your own Facebook Business page or Group page, there is also another interesting group creation to consider, a joint venture. Several people could come together to create a group of entrepreneurs or businesses on a single Facebook page (either Business or Group) and share the responsibility of running the page and making posts. This multiplies your contacts if each person agrees to share the Facebook page with all of their followers and shares the work load, while giving the readers more variety.
Here is an example of a joint venture or co-op type Facebook page: Sisters in Sales - It could easily be men and women or just men this is only an example.

First thing to consider when creating a business page is what kind of interaction do you want with your customers/clients. Group page or regular Business page? A Group page might best if you want to interact with your customers and have group discussions. A Business page is more about posting your own ads and comments. Technical Considerations For A Facebook Page
Another consideration for your new Facebook Business page are your images. Your images need to be sized properly for your header image, Business and Group pages use different size images. It is important to use the correct size. Just for making images to insert into a post I size all images to a random size that I like, which is 800px. Facebook changes cover photo policy: 20% text rule in effect but content less regulated.
Until recently Facebook did not allow people to charge their "Vanity" URL. (the name you gave your page for searching). You did not have to set the Vanity URL right away, but once set, it was set in concrete. You could change the page name, but strangely you were stuck with the original URL address you created. - Times have changed, and it appears that this is no longer the case. Still, Facebook changes their minds - often - so pick your business name wisely.
